What are these brand new suitcases doing...

...in our living room?
Well, we are going to London, UK, later this spring. We had some vague plans to go around my birthday in October last year but London late in October is not such great fun.
Any ideas of places to go and stuff to see? Maybe drop by at Rachels and Petes place...? :)
One thing is sure though, RAF Museum, Hendon, here I come!

Yes, I will do that! Have to stalk the Richmond area and ask my way... :) Or do you know where they live?

The trip is later than the TCT concert at RAH which is crap, this trip was decided upon in a hurry one evening when Lukas' girlfriends mom called and told us that she had found cheap flight tickets to London. The next minute we had booked tickets for all of us and found a good hotel close to Hyde Park! :)
So you grew up in London? Nice! I've been in London once in 1984 on a business trip but much have changed since I think.

I would love to go to the RAF Museum! Some of my favourite movies are about the war in Britain. One favourite, the title escapes me at the moment, is about the American boys flying bombing missions into Germany.

Secondly, I would give my eye teeth to have tea with Rachel and Pete! Or, at the least, do a few stalker-like drivebys...

Enjoy your holiday!

xx

Hi Dale, how are your preparation for the Olympics going? :)
The movie you are thinking of is "Memphis Belle", ggod movie. There is a B17 on display at Hendon.
Stalking them out could perhaps be a Mission Impossible but if I succeed I will have them over for tea at our hotel, have to stalk Roger out as well :)

Yes Hans, Memphis Belle! I was thinking the title was the name of the bomber. All I could think of was Enola Gay - but I knew it wasn't that!
My uncle flew B17's in the war, too - until he got caught...
Spent the rest of the war sitting it out in an Italian prisoner-of-war camp. And he lived on to raise three girls with his Irish war bride.

As for the Olympics, it seems the preparations are coming along just fine. The warm coastal weather has brought rain, but nothing they are not used to, or prepared for.
I live a day's drive from Vancouver and Whistler, so will be watching the events comfortably from my couch in front of the fire at home!
