Still hibernating...

Nothing much else to do. The temperature plunges down below -20 C every night and hardly rises above -12 C in the middle of the day. I generally like a good old winter but this is too extreme even for my taste. The snow is soon waist deep.
To comfort myself in the meantime I upgraded from D70 to a second hand D300.
Took some test pictures from the front- and back porch last Sunday (cold) morning. You really don't want to walk around with the camera in this weather. Your fingers will be frozen stiff, the lense will stick and the battery will die in some few minutes... :(

That first one of the tree is spectacular! And the snow is so pretty, but those temperatures, oh my I am shivering just thinking about it. Oh, like the superbowl videos :)

Beautiful, Hans!
It does indeed look cold - I've heard you've been having quite a cold, snowy winter over there in Finland.
Brrrrr...
It has been lovely and warm here this season - quite unusual. The skiing has been spring-like with lots of sun and soft snow.
...we need more snow, though.

It's amazing how we northerners find ways to occupy ourselves during the long, cold and dark winters!

Wow Hans, that is sriosly cold. Is it any better now? The Photos are gorgeous, though. Can't blame you for your consolation present! I didn't know the battery would react so badly to he cold. Stay warm!!
